Family Fun in Marbella: Summer Activities and Entertainment Guide

As the last of the schools break up for the summer holidays this week and Marbella’s endless sun-drenched holiday season kicks off in earnest – three members of the Panorama Team recommend their favourite fun places to go with their younger family members and visiting friends with kids, aside from the obvious beachside attractions:

Tivoli World

The Costa del Sol’s largest amusement park located in Benalmádena, a 30 minute drive from Marbella, is a long-time summer favourite of Sean Cannon, one of Panorama’s Senior Property Consultants, and his son Matthew.

“I’ve been taking my son there since he was little as there are rides and attractions suitable for all ages, different places to eat, live entertainment shows and a wonderful welcoming Spanish family atmosphere. I can’t wait to have an excuse to go on all the rides again myself!”

Summer opening hours: 6:00pm – 1:00am

Aventura Amazonia Marbella

This outdoor activity park in Marbella’s Elviria district, just a short drive from Marbella´s Golden Mile, has 6 adventure age-appropriate circuits and 20 zip-lines that take you whizzing through the treetops like Tarzan, the longest of which is 240 metres long! This is a favourite treat for the kids of Jo Borda, Panorama’s Director of Client Services.

“It’s a brilliant place to take your kids with a bunch of their friends but it’s pretty popular, so it’s best to pre-book for a group. Adults can join in and leave the younger ones at the crèche facility or relax at the cafeteria while the kids wear themselves out! Good, healthy fun!”

Summer opening hours: 9:00am – 8:00pm

Benahavís canyoning tour

Only a 20 minute drive inland from Marbella’s Golden Mile, qualified guides take you on a trek, climb, and swim down the Guadalmina river, through the spectacular Las Angosturas gorge in Benahavís. Bianca Omloo, one of Panorama’s Rental Consultants, looks forward to this date with nature with her youngest son every summer:

“This is a great outing for energetic youngsters with an adventurous spirit and really enjoyable if you’re a nature-loving adult with a good fitness level. It’s also an incredible opportunity for family bonding time in an amazing natural setting.”

We’ll be sharing more of our favourite places and things to do in and around Marbella with you next week – in the meantime – here’s to a great summer for you all, from all the Panorama Team!
