Nach ihm ist die Hauptstra\u00dfe benannt, die durch den Ort f\u00fchrt.\u201c<br \/>\n<br \/>\nChristopher Clover<\/p>\n    \n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vor 1860 hatte der Ort 35 Einwohner. In den Jahren 1861\/1862 stieg diese Zahl auf 535 Menschen, die alle in der landwirtschaftlichen Gemeinschaft arbeiteten, insbesondere in der Zuckerproduktion. Zuckerrohr blieb bis weit ins 20. Jahrhundert hinein die wichtigste Kulturpflanze.<\/p>\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"testimonial bg-secondary bg-opacity-10 text-dark wp-block-acf-blockquote\">\n    <p>&#8222;Der \u00dcbergang von einer landwirtschaftlichen Gemeinschaft zum Tourismus begann im Grunde mit dem Kauf der Hacienda Guadalmina, des Landguts Guadalmina, durch den bekannten Agronomen Norberto Goizueta aus Navarra. Im Jahr 1933 entdeckte er von seinem Boot aus das Zuckerrohr, das auf der Hacienda Guadalmina wuchs, und kaufte das Anwesen.
