FIABCI Membership: A foundation for Panorama’s real estate success

What Is FIABCI?

FIABCI, is the French acronym for “Fédération Internationale des Administrateurs de Bien-Conselis Immobiliers” known in English as the International Real Estate Federation. It is a global business networking organisation for all professionals associated with the real estate industry. Founded in 1948, FIABCI has members in over 70 countries, bringing together developers, brokers, architects, investors, legal experts, and other property specialists. The organisation’s mission is to help members acquire international contacts, share knowledge, and promote best practices across borders.

FIABCI holds Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), where it contributes to global discussions on sustainable urban development and property rights. Through its events, publications, and leadership development, FIABCI empowers professionals to operate with integrity and vision in a highly internationalised real estate landscape.

An International vision from the beginning

Long before Panorama Properties became the benchmark for luxury real estate in Marbella, CEO Christopher Clover was already looking beyond borders. In the early 1970s, Chris became a direct member of FIABCI, and remained a member until the late 1980s. Back then FIABCI was always known as a prestigious global network of property professionals. This early membership gave him access to world-class standards, market insights, and business ethics that would later influence the identity of Marbella’s oldest real estate agency.

FIABCI and the start of an extraordinary career

Chris began his real estate career in Washington DC, joining Panorama International Ltd. in 1971. In 1973, he moved to Marbella to head the company’s Spanish operations. During this time, his connection with FIABCI allowed him to stay ahead of global real estate trends, develop international contacts, and gain first-hand exposure to global best practices.

How FIABCI shaped Marbella’s luxury property market

Direct FIABCI membership provided access to a worldwide community of real estate professionals committed to ethics, innovation, and excellence. For Chris, these values became core principles at Panorama. They influenced how the agency approached client relationships, conducted property transactions, and positioned itself as a trusted advisor for luxury buyers and sellers.

Panorama is still indirectly associated with FIABCI today

Today, Christopher Clover's GIPE membership provides Panorama with all the benefits of association with this important Spanish real estate association (verify Christopher Clover's GIPE membership). GIPE in turn is a member of the European Association of Real Estate Professions CEPI (verify GIPE's CEPI membership), which in turn is a member of FIABCI (verify CEPI's FIABCI membership). In that sense, Panorama is still associated with FIABCI although it is not currently a direct member of FIABCI.

What direct Panorama’s FIABCI membership in the '70s and '80s means for our clients today

1. A Global Perspective.

Panorama continues to serve international clients with the same global mindset that Christopher Clover gained from FIABCI in the 1970's and 1980's. Clients benefit from a deep understanding of international property markets, tax implications, and multi-jurisdictional transactions.

2. Trusted Industry Connections.

Decades of networking through organisations like FIABCI and RICS have enabled Panorama to build long-term relationships with reputable professionals around the world.

3. Proven Experience in Marbella Real Estate.

Christopher Clover’s career spans over 55 years in Marbella, with a commitment to excellence rooted in international standards from the very start.

Why this story is still very relevant

For buyers and sellers in today’s Marbella luxury property market, Panorama offers something few agencies can: a legacy of trust, transparency, and international professionalism. The story of Christopher Clover’s FIABCI membership in the 1970s and 1980s is not just part of our history, it is part of the foundation of how Panorama Marbella continues to do business today.
