Perfect beachfront location in Marbella

This 5-star Grand Luxury hotel is part of the Leading Hotels of the World network, located on the seafront and in one of the most exclusive beachside areas of Marbella.

Exclusive gastronomy at the Hotel Puente Romano

Boasting three swimming pools, a tennis club, an abundance of other first-class facilities, and up to six different restaurants, the hotel even has its very own exclusive night club, Suite.

Even without the several beautiful restaurants based in the hotel itself, the world-famous double-Michelin star chef Dani Garcia runs two incredible restaurants below the hotel reception as well.

Luxury facilities: swimming pools and tennis club.

The hotel was built in 1976-1977 by the well-known Sevillano property developer, Tulio Pino who designed the project to look like an Andalusian village, complete with whitewashed houses, tiled roofs, pretty cobbled plazas, and brightly-coloured flowers. As a result of this, the hotel now offers an extensive area of low-rise luxury accommodation, spread across both sides of large, sub-tropical gardens leading towards the sea.

History and architecture of the Hotel Puente Romano

The hotel itself has 287 “keys” most of which are large studios, or one bedroom suites of approximately the same size (i.e. 55-60 m2 plus terraces).

Exclusive apartments and luxury suites

During its first two years, between 1976 and 1978, 61 properties were sold for private use. Then, in 1978, the remaining units were sold “en bloque” to Syrian-Saudi businessman Mouffak Al Midani, who formed the basis of the Hotel Puente Romano. This then opened in 1979 along with what remains the best tennis club in Marbella, adjacent to the hotel, for many years headed by Bjorn Borg.

The hotel project and its exclusivity in the real estate market

Later on, in 1995, the hotel was acquired by David Shamoon, a well-known London based businessman. To this day, the hotel remains in the hands of his capable children Daniel and Jennica who have implemented vast improvements and refurbishments over the years.

Current owners and recent renovations.

A much-sought after location, landing a property here is easier said than done. However, some of the privately-owned apartments do come on the market from time to time. You need to act quickly when they do though, as they are usually snapped up within a month or two.

If you get your hands on a property within the hotel, you can then enjoy the 5-star services and facilities. Oh, and the sandy beaches are only a two- or three-minute walk away. Since there are no community fees, due to a special, notarised agreement between the hotel and the private owners, maintenance costs are also highly reduced.
