Las Lomas Pueblo

Lomas Pueblo at a glance

Lomas Pueblo is one of Marbella Golden Mile’s most distinctive residential enclaves, known for its authentic Andalusian village design, architectural charm and superb location within Las Lomas del Marbella Club. Close to Puente Romano, the beach, Marbella town and Puerto Banús, it combines character, convenience and timeless residential appeal.

History of Lomas Pueblo

Las Lomas del Marbella Club Pueblo is a development that was built over 18 years. Its first houses were finished in 1974, with more houses built year on year until its final completion back in 1992. Upon completion, the development comprised 92 properties in total.

How Lomas Pueblo was developed

The pioneering development team was led by American born, charismatic Bill Genske, MD and owner of “Bloques San Pablo” (a manufacturer of building materials in Seville), and his able foreman, Emilio Fajardo. The development’s designer-architect was the well-known artist and craftsman, Donald Grey, who was also responsible for the design of the highly successful La Virginia village in the late 60’s and early 70’s.

Squares within the community

I met Bill Genske before I moved to Spain, in 1972, when he visited our Washington office just after he had bought the land and was planning his first houses. Bill and his wife Sylvia became close personal friends after we moved to Marbella in 1973, and Panorama was instrumental, over the years, in selling many of the homes that he built.

Architecture and Andalusian village character

Streets within the Lomas Pueblo residential area

Designed in the style of a traditional Andalusian village

The concept of Las Lomas Pueblo is that of a typical, original Andalusian village with winding streets and classic traditional village house façades and patios, wrought iron on the windows, wooden shutters inside, brick fireplaces and warm sun-baked clay earth tiles on the floors, in most of the homes.

Why its architecture makes Lomas Pueblo stand out

Many of the houses were sold off-plan, where the owner designed the interior layout together with Bill Genske’s team, while the exteriors were left untouched from Donald Grey’s design. It is not an estate where sea views are prominent, but the strength of Las Lomas Pueblo is its outstanding architecture and fantastic location.
