Panorama Regulated by RICS

Panorama is the only RICS-regulated residential real estate agency in Marbella & the Costa del Sol

Panorama is a RICS-regulated company and the only RICS-regulated residential estate agency in Marbella and the Costa del Sol. You can confirm this directly via the official RICS directory. RICS - the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - is the global professional standards body for land, property, construction and infrastructure, with over 130,000 qualified members in more than 145 countries.

Service-quality certifications (for example, ISO 9001) are sector-agnostic and focus on internal process discipline. RICS firm regulation is specifically for the real estate industry, adding client-money controls, a formal complaints process with independent dispute resolution, professional indemnity and Rules of Conduct that can be investigated and sanctioned.

In 2016, based upon Panorama's Managing Director, Christopher Clover, being made a RICS Fellow together with additional qualifying factors, Panorama was approved as a real estate agency “regulated by RICS”.

What is RICS?

RICS, The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, is the global professional body promoting and enforcing the highest international standards in the valuation, management and development of land, real estate, construction and infrastructure.

Founded in 1868, RICS currently has more than 130,000 professional members in more than 145 countries, specialising in different aspects of the real estate sector, including property valuation, consulting services, property brokerage and professional activities related to land, homes, buildings and construction

Their development and enforcement of leading international standards, protects consumers and businesses by ensuring the utmost level of professionalism is employed across the built and natural environment.

What does a company regulation mean in practice?

RICS company regulation is about systems that protect clients. As a regulated company Panorama conveys to its clients a message of confidence and quality. In day-to-day terms that includes:

  • Ethics-bound regulations: ethical, acting with integrity and honesty
  • Rules of Conduct & conflicts: documented procedures, transparent referrals, and staff training on standards.
  • Client Money Protection (CMP): funds are held in segregated accounts with reconciliation controls.
  • Complaints & redress: a published, two-stage process and access to independent redress if needed.
  • Professional indemnity insurance: cover appropriate to the services provided.

Why it matters locally

Marbella is an international, fast-moving market. Many of our clients—private families, funds, and developers—operate to UK/EU governance norms and expect recognisable safeguards. RICS provides an internationally understood benchmark that complements Spanish law and local practice, reducing execution risk and clarifying accountability.

"Clients who work with a RICS-regulated real estate agency can have confidence in the quality and ethics of the services they receive."
