The neighbourhood was conceived by Jose Banús in the early 1960s, before the construction of the nearby Puerto Banús marina began in 1965 and, upon its inauguration in 1968, provided the crucial impetus for Nueva Andalucía’s development. Golf Valley
Known as the Golf Valley, Nueva Andalucía has three championship‑standard courses: Aloha Golf Club, Los Naranjos Golf Club and Real Club de Golf Las Brisas. Aloha has even welcomed PGA Tour events, underscoring the calibre of golf on offer. Other courses include Magna Marbella, and Marbella International Golf Centre (formerly Dama de Noche Golf).
